As the clock struck 10 pm, the vibrant energy of Ljubljana’s nightlife beckoned me once again. Eager to embrace the thrill of the night, I joined a familiar group for another round of pub crawling in 2019. This time, I found myself in the company of new friends from Mexico, Argentina, and Turkey, ready to explore the city’s lively pub scene.
Our pub crawl adventure led us through five distinct pubs, each offering its unique charm and atmosphere. Dancing the night away, we joyfully took on the challenge of completing ten tasks, immersing ourselves in the lively spirit of the Slovenian nightlife.
In the midst of the revelry, a chance encounter with a Turkish acquaintance added an unexpected twist to the night. Welcomed as if we were old friends, I left my jacket and umbrella near her table while we continued our pub-hopping escapade. However, as the night unfolded, I discovered my cherished umbrella missing – a symbolic souvenir from Bulgaria, a beacon of my travel memories.
The loss momentarily cast a shadow on the night, but the Turkish acquaintance, identified through her Instagram handle, proved to be a good Samaritan. She confirmed holding onto my umbrella and graciously agreed to return it the next day. A wave of relief washed over me as I continued my journey through the pubs.
The following day brought new plans – a booked canyoning experience that promised to capture the visuals I missed on my previous visit. Excitement filled the air as I embarked on a transfer from Ljubljana to Lake Bled for the adventure. However, nature had different plans, as heavy rain from the previous night had caused rock slides, resulting in the cancellation of the canyoning activity.
Initially disappointed, I decided to pivot and explore an alternative adventure. The receptionist recommended a thrilling zipline experience, and with a newfound spirit, I embraced the unexpected turn of events, proving once again that every twist in the journey holds its own unique charm and excitement.
