The early morning Flixbus journey from Paris(Bercy Seine) to Brussels-North Station Line 801 not only marked a seamless transition but also promised a day filled with exploration and cultural encounters.

Upon my 8:30 am arrival at Brussels-North Station, the initially daunting task of navigating the city’s public transport system on a quiet Sunday left me with no alternative but to opt for the ever-reliable Uber cab service. Little did I know that this decision would set the stage for a series of delightful encounters.

The Turkish drivers, a prominent presence in Belgium, emerged as my unexpected guides to the heart of Brussels. Eager to connect with travelers, my cab driver not only offered his services but also extended an invitation to explore the city together. This warmth and hospitality foreshadowed the memorable experiences that awaited me.

Upon reaching my haven for the day, “Motel One Brussels,” I was welcomed by a receptionist whose enthusiasm to interact was contagious. In a pleasant exchange, she sought details about my home country, India, proudly showcasing pictures of herself adorned in Indian attire. Her genuine curiosity and warmth instantly made me feel at home.

Settling into my cozy room on the ground floor, with a charming garden view, the pleasant weather outside, coupled with a gentle shower and soft winds, beckoned me to indulge in a rejuvenating nap. It was a perfect prelude to an afternoon of exploration.

As the sun began its descent, I set out for the iconic St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral, a stone’s throw away from my abode. The timeless beauty of the cathedral provided a serene backdrop to my wanderings.
