What can I expect from Cambodia?

Cambodia in Nutshell:
Kingdom of Cambodia located in south portion of Indochina peninsula in Southeast Asia bordered with Laos to the northeast, Vietnam to the east and Thailand to the southwest.A land of plains and rivers which linked as trade routes of India to China and southeast asia.Influenced with many asian cultures of France and United states.Cambodia with French colonised and experienced turmoil of war during 20th century. During Khmer Rouge’s period nearly 1.5 million civilizations were killed with a monumental tragedy from which still country suffers.

Climate: Two major seasons with monsoon winds and high humidity
Economy: Tourism and Major agriculture products of rice paddy and rubber.

Tourism: Second greatest source after the textile industry. Major tourism cities were Angkor wat and Phom Penh, including Sihanoukville with popular beaches and Battambang with popular stops for backpackers. Bokor hill station is also interesting place for visitors.

Currency: Eventhough the currency is cambodian riels , US dollar plays an important role of being used as main currency.

Culture: Houses in Cambodia were built on wood and thatched roofs with palm matting walls.Lifestyle was cambodians were attuned to the agricultural cycle based on family oriented farming.The Civilians awake before dawn and most of the major works complete by noon, minor works in the early evening. Electricity is major drawback in villages and people sleep soon after sunset. Farmers celebrate their festival and marriages after harvesting and with the money saved from the sales of grains.
